I charge my bbm because battery 5% at night before im going to bed in singapore hotel, early morning when i woke up my bbm totaly shutdown no power even i try to get off the battery and use yhe electricity charging the blackberry. Normally i charge my bbm hole night before i sleep but this condition my bbm total shutdown even the battery not charge only red light indicator on for a while then off. So whats the problem what i can do i must save my data first even my bbm off totaly.

did you installed OS updates since u buy it? If no, than shit happens, 50/50 it's hardware or old software problems, nobody knows for sure. New one update to at least 540 version or higher...

If you consistently let the device rundown past 20%, you might have damaged the battery.

You can try removing the battery, placing the device on a wall charger and then insert the battery and see if it will charge. Typically, you need to get past a certain point, around 10-15% charge before the device will turn on. That might take an hour or two.

If that fails, try a new OEM battery made for your specific model.

hi i have the same problem with novaldy. my bold 9900 just turn dead set after charging, only the red light in the upper right corner turns on and off. can somebody be kind enough to tell me what to do.

my brother also have 9900 and the same problem he encountered, the unit just went off. he send it back for repair thru the courrier and was informed to wait for 3 months.

i read the no 3 post. but i dont think the battery is the problem because i borrowed the battery of my friend who has 9900 but still my unit is not responding.

You can try reloading the OS for your device.

Latest Official is 7.1 (You can search this forum) I would post the link, but I have no clue where you live or who your carrier is.

If that does not work, then you may have to bring your device in to be looked at (if it still under warranty)

thanks for your advice. i am from the philippines and my carrier is globe telecom philippines. my unit is still under warranty. it is actually less than 3 months old. i went to the carrier for their comment but they told me that they will just send it to the manufacturer and the waiting time is 3 months.

3 months!?!?!? That is a really long turn around time for a repair. Are there no other options? Could you not exchange the device, or get a loaner until your device is ready?

yes it is really a long turn around time for a repair because our carrier has to send it back either to singapore or canada where the maker has an office or service center. my brother was given a loaner while his unit is being fixed; but for my side i am still looking for any useful suggestion in this forum, hoping to find one to save my data in the phone which is important to me.

Did you not backup your device regularly? If so, then you may be able to retrieve your information from the last backup (It may not be 100% up to date), but may be better than nothing.

yes i have used 9900 bold white approximately 3 months. overall good!!!!specifically made for tft capacitive touchscreen display...........................
