Please Login to Remove!

Just got this today and loaded it into my 8130!!

loaded it in and it tells me there is 7.6gb of memory! So i would say we are all good. I have to learn how to transfer data and mp3's over to it but just wanted to share that it took the card with no problem.

i have software OS vs: v4.3.0.60

Hope this will be of help! i will try to take some pics to add for everyone to see

Thats okay! just wanted to be of help, I thought I had read thru that post and there wasnt anyone that had it working 100% one way or another. It read 7.6gb right after I installed. I have not done any transfer of data and im learning by searching this site on how to change the settings.

We've been talking about this since November...but newbies may appreciate seeing it front-and-center again.

As for copying files, connect BB to your PC using USB cable, enable mass storage mode when the prompt appears on the BB, and copy to the card via Windows Explorer. Very simple.

It's USB 1.x, so the speed of copy isn't impressive.

If you have a micro-SD card adapter, copying directly to the card is much, much, faster.

I've had my 8GB card since November, no issues w/the hardware, it has about 1 GB free...got music, pics, and movies on it.

One thing you may run into is "disappearing" audio tracks or movies. Has happened to me a couple of times, always after I have just copied or rearranged files on my SD card. The only way that fixes it for me is to remove the offending diretory, and copy it and contents back to the card. Someone posted that deleting the DAT files that the BB creates in the folders helped, but that didn't do anything for me.

for the record the blackberry acts as a microSDHC reader so if you found a card without the reader it may be cheaper. As it was stated it is a bit slow on transfering, using a seperate reader *does* improve the speed. The 8130 has OS 4.3 on it which allows for the larger card size with no loss in space (other than the bits to bytes conversion and the sector 0)

according to the white papers released they state "Unlimited". I would assume it would be until they find a format other than microSD and microSDHC

Yeah...one post here said RIM said the upper limit would be 256 GB. That would store a LOT of movies, songs, pictures, and files.

so far so good. i havent had much time to load things on but i have started and have about 20 songs and close to 200 pics. the songs are going to take longer as i couldnt get the software to download so i can use my itunes with the phone to use my library. once i have that i will have all music over to the phone. i took the phone to the gym with me and used it instead of the iPod and worked good. only thing i didnt care for was that its larget then the mp3 and i didnt have anything to hold it with. i may try that case that came with the phone to see how that works.

I have figured out sooo much already thanks to the many posts on this site. Amazing what this phone does.
