Ok, first of all I love this app. I purchased it yesterday evening and set it all up. I have a couple questions. #1, I did the backup under the options of quicklaunch and it saved it to a txt file on my SDCard in case I need to restore my configuration (after an os upgrade later on) How do I go about doing that exactly? I know where the text file is and such but isn't a regular full backup under the desktop manager going to do that for me already or not?


2nd and last question is, I downloaded 2.0 like mentioned above and then sometime in the middle of the night I get an email saying 2.01 is available and its a free upgrade since it's minor. Tells me to click the my account link in the email. That's all the instructions it gives. I go to that link but the only thing I can do is buy it again at $4.99. For anyone that has this, am I doing something wrong? Thanks.

I answered #1 of my questions. It kept taking me to a different page. I had to use my computer to login to my account. For some reason the storm wouldn't go to right spot. Oh well. I still need help on that txt file backup question though. ;)

where did you get quicklaunch from ? if it's mobihand, then you can go into your account there, and send yourself an email or sms to download the update directly from the phone....

if from app world, then you should be able to get the update from app world....

i had v1, then updated to 1.5....when i found that 2.0 had features like screen capture and reset, i put down the extra $ 2 to upgrade (mobihand)....but noticed that the weather portion of the app doesn't work....no place to enter the LocationID....

i sent an email to support yesterday about it. this morning i find out that v2.01 is out, after installing it, i still don't see the ability to add LocationID for weather data.....

adding weather would be nice-er, but since this app essentially replaces 2 other apps i had (quickpull and captureit), it's not a complete loss....

Thanks for the help. Do you know anything about the backup and how it works though? I believe I can help you on the zipcode location ID. I thought the same thing but all you have to do is click the white space right after ID and it will let you put a zip code in. Works like a charm ;)

After launching QL, hit the menu (bb button) and select backup/restore. The next screen provides a button to back up and a button to restore. It is painless from there. If a backup was made, the restore will pull it and set everything as you saved it. I went to 2.0 yesterday and then 2.01 this moning. After I went to 2.01, I did not have to set the whole thing up again. This is an awesome little program.

so, has anyone gotten the weather to display in the ql menu ?

lol, did you miss my post a few posts up in this thread about the weather? There isn't a button or anything, you have to click with your finger directly to the right of the LOCATION ID section and a cursor will come up allowing you to enter your zipcode. It doesn't look like it's available but there is a space to click next to it. I got mine working. ;)

of all the relatively inexpensive apps i've seen for bb's, this one packs the most....

I like it very much as well. I also downloaded the inspirat windows7 theme. I'm enjoying it as well. Do you have meterberry? That app is very good too.

I purchased ver. 1.4 through the blackberryapps store last week for my Curve. Well a couple of days later I got a Storm. I just went to the site to change my device and pin so I could use the program on my Storm. I was able to do that and then download to the Storm. The download page still says the program is for the Curve. Shouldn't there be a different version for the Storm or is it the same? It does work but everytime I open the program the keyboard comes up and the menu doesn't respond to touch, you have to swipe to select an item. Maybe this is the way it is supposed to work but just thought I would ask.

don't have that app....

but after making the changes to ql for weather, i found it makes my connection drop to edge....so now i'm not using the weather feature....sux

i should have bought the 9500....until then i'll b beating my head on a wall....

has anyone noticed any changes to the app in the latest 2.02 release ?

i'm losing my confidence in this app, since in the past 7 days there have been at least 3 updates to it, 2 of which are revisions to version 2.0....so what's the deal with nikkisoft ?

Haven't. noticed anything new with it but why lose confidence? It works just fine for me. Besides updates are good

because 2 updates within a a few days of release....says to me that maybe they rushed the release out the door and now they're wiping up the crumbs left behind....

or perhaps it's just additional patching to support upcoming OS's, who knows....

i'm not updating anymore because it's becoming annoying with these new updates every 2-3 days....

also nikkisoft isn't giving any detailed update info....

I updated to the 2.04 version this morning and now it says my activation code is invalid. I didn't use the backup feature before upgrading. Could that be the issue?

Who did you purchase the program from? I have read that with certain vendors, you had to log in to your account, re-enter your PIN and then it would provide a valid activation code. Once you get it running, I would do a backup right away as this should eliminate this problem in the future.

I purchased through the BlackberryApps Store/Mobihand. I have emailed both them and nikkisoft.

I still can't get weather to show up. I have put in my postal code and location ID but still showing up blank?

Also, using the Reset Device utility does nothing.

I'm using v2.04.
