So whats the big deal?
Please Login to Remove!
So i downloaded and installed the New DM 4.5, and the new tmo 4.5 update, i had .93 on my phone before installation. do i downgraded to the 4.5.81 t mobile version and it seems like nothing different than the last few updates from RIM, everythings the same. Anyone else want to share any noticible differences than .93?

Also, when i first bought my 8320 it came with 4.2, well myfavs picture icons were circles with a yellow ring around them, when i upgraded to 4.5 it changed the icons to appear like the much older style, no yellow rings...i need more yellow rings baby anyone know how to fix this or is it just an upgrade issue?

Had the same issue. After disabling my Norton Firewall software I then could get to the download button page.

You can always rely on Tmo for functionality, seamless integration of the OS, but they always fail on the battery life side of things...great version of the OS, very stable too!
a must for all Tmo users...ditch the Orange or Rogers versions NOW!

I guess the fact that all of the software is written by RIM - all of it - nevers enter into the discussion.

true the software is written by RIM but it is up to the carriers to make sure its stable on their phones. So from RIM it goes to the T-Mobile software developers to integrate and refine...with permission from RIM of course...so ultimately, it is a collective effort...Which means integrating their systems into the functional of the phone i.e. MyFaves for T-Mobile...a big reason why the other version were unstable was because (and I can only speak for myself) of MyFaves draining memory because of carrier specific files...
Deleting the vendor.xml file just allows the recognition of the files, it does nothing to alter the files themselves...
which is why different version DO make a difference...

This is the same version that has released by Vodaphone and it also the same as the leaked beta, it just has the my faves files written into the software code. Why are the preloaded pictures still not included with these so called offical RIM software release's. Does RIM not read these boards, battery life SUCKS on .81 and .93, my phone will not make it a day on a full charge!!! Also the UMA to EDGE handoff sucks as well, it always drops my calls, if Iam on my Jawbone, and I leave the UMA area it drops the call and locks up my device. I have to pull the battery and reboot. The memory leak in .81 is horrible, and the only 3rd party app I have installed is the current version of Google Maps, on .93 its a little better. Come on RIM, let's get it together with the OS software. The .81 I feel is a subpar build, .93 is better but the device is slugish.

Gotta tell you, I don't have ANY of these problems on .81. When T-Mo released theirs a couple of days ago, I wound up doing a JL_Cmdr wipe and reinstalling fresh and everything sings along just fine.
I recommend doing a wipe to anyone that has fooled around with Betas before installing the new official release. Just seems like a good practice and my experience has been very solid. BTW, I use Jawbone and UMA a lot; no problems whatsoever....

I did the upgrade and I am happy so far. but, I don't see the OTA Update option in the settings like I did when I was using the Orange UK version a while back. Did T-Mobile remove this?

Hi Everyone, I just downloded the new Desktop and BB Device software from T-Mobile's site. So far so good. All 4 of my E-Mail addresses are working, I did have to reload Yahoo IM, but I think I may have unchecked it when I went in to set up "Advanced" Applications. I will plan to let everyone know if I notice anything different. The Video Rocks and access to the Internet seems faster to me. I am running BIS.
Thanks!!

Did everyone get the default wallpapers installed? Mine were missing. Then again, I had 4.5 once before.

Installed .81 about an hour ago and it's been kicking my poor Curve into a reboot loop. Working on downgrading now. No thanks on 4.5!

FYI
I never had 4.5 on my phone before. I don't want BETAs or another carriers OS.
The original default bb wallpapers are missing for me as well.
I don't notice anything wrong with the OS. Everything works the way it should. Has it improved anything? I really dunno. Memory leak still exists for me, but its a tad different. I got more memory after installing this OS, close to 15megs. At the end of the day it will drop down to 11MB (something that normally took me almost a whole week to lose that much). But, it will go down to 10MB. When it hits around 10MB, it will shoot back up to around 11MB. It will jungle between 10-11MB. Hasn't gotten lower 10. I'll try to hold off doing a battery pull since I was doing it everyday and see how long it will stay at 10. Besides that, I really have no complaint.
Althought strange thing, I have the "newest" Yahoo Messenger which I download from the blackberry homepage, but when I load 4.5, it ask me to downgrade. Any reason for this?

Hi, I updated a few hours ago and the only thing I noticed is when entering an E-Mail address and using the space bar to enter the @ symbol, when you enter the 2nd letter of any E-Mail after the @ symbol, the @ symbol disapears. If I manually enter the @ symbol it stays in the E-Mail address and I can send the E-Mail. This However only happens if the 1st space bar press is to enter a @ symbol. If I press the Space Bar first to enter a Period, the next time I press the Space Bar the @ symbol stays in the E-Mail Address. Anyone see anything like this? I have done a battery pull with the Blackberry on and resent Service Books.
Thanks!!

Have you tried just continuing with the email? The @ symbol disappears while typing the address but it does appear after the address is complete and you move to another field. At least that has been my experience.

That's another issue! A lot of folks are having email problems this morning. Check the forum on outages. Mine is just starting to come back.

Other than the missing default images, the software is running very smoothly for me including HTML E-mail. No major complaints yet here.
