It will NOT work on AT&T's 3G. AT&T/Rogers do not use the 2100MHz spectrum, and thus the Storm will not be 3G here.

T-Mobile's 3G is 2100MHz , but we don't have the downlink frequency..

did you not notice this was posted before the spec sheet came out. And before they decided to block the triband? Just like the spy shot in BBN, it was supposed(does) have a triband hSPA. But I posted that before they launched the official spec sheet.

I know Sith. That was my attempt at a joke, that's why I mentioned we only have one of the two frequencies... Oh well.

Thanks for the colorful commentary Mr. Bond. But when you have a relative who has Verizon and an upgrade they won't use. A $ 199.99 price vs. a $ 499.99 plus PayPal and shipping fees makes a little more sense. Especially if Verizon doesn't lock down the GSM bands.

Since reading the BBnews page, I have a serious feeling that the 9530 will have tri-band HSDPA. Why?

*Verizon, Bell, and Telus all announced this model.
*All these providers officially announced their plans to goto LTE, by first upgrading networks with an overlay of HSPA on 850/1900mhz. Telus & Bell have the recent 20mhz/10mhz spectrum to just about cover the entire Canadian population (or the 30mill out of 32 million of us).
* Bell is the Official cellular network sponsor of the Olympic Games in Vancouver, British Columbia in 2010 - the year they said the transitions to be completed by.

> conclusion. Makes no sense to release a device NOT capable of using the new network in two years when the better price is set for 2/3yr contracts. Sure they'll be more devices, but this is the FIRST to have BOTH networks with quadband EDGE to use in the SAME country not just overseas like the 8830World Edition. This makes their announcements Sound and more concrete to the end users.

A toy, that's cute. They sure have sold a lot of those "toys".

Well, even Verizon's talking points have stated that the 9530 will be quad band. So luck is on my side.

It should work, just not on their 3g network, nor ATT's 3g network. ATT gets the Bold for 3G, Tmobile doesn't really have much 3g, so they get the javelin/new Curve.
