Removing the Rogers logo off the bold?
Please Login to Remove!
I just wonder if there was a safe way to not scratch up the face of the Bold but remove the logo. And if not this might be a good ideal for a user guide. Due to the slow US launch of the Bold there are quite a few people (crack berry junkies) who won’t wait for the US launch of this device.

There are several threads here about removing the logo from the Curves and Pearls. I haven't seen one for the Bold.
I use a skin to cover mine and never see the carrier branding.

You can get a replacement part which is unbranded. This does mean taking the phone apart though.

Alternatively Cellular Accessories has just that part available for a few dollars.
They've always been good to do business with; mine came in three days. I haven't put it on yet, but it looks like you might need to open the case to do it, which is a drawback if you don't like tinkering.

I have used rubbing alcohol and a q-tip on phones before to do this kind of thing successfully but looking at the rogers one, I don't know if it will be that easy, and I don't know if I want to risk it.

You do not need to open the whole case to replace that part. It simply pries off. I used a cell phone opening tool (plastic) to wedge underneath and it popped right off with some gentle prying. The replacement has a strip of adhesive tape and two small plastic prongs that correspond to holes on the case. Very simple job.

I saw it without the logo today. A guy had it at one of those unlocked phone booths

why does the presence of a logo matter so much? just curious. Its not like you can get erase all vendor'isms on the phone. When it boots up, it will still show a Rogers splash screen!

I think it makes for a good story when people ask me about who/what is Rogers and why is it on my phone.

I wasn't bashing Canadians. I am a Canadian! haha I was making fun of those who actually believe we live in igloos haha. For the longest time I never believed anyone really thought that but I've been proven wrong numerous times! haha

Thanks for this post!! I got a replacement case (currently on my 8800) from this company, and I love it. I was thrilled to see that they had the "unbranded" lower faceplate here, and that it is only $7.00. The 8800 replacement case was much more expensive.
As I recall, they provided great instructions along with the 8800 replacement case, and swaping it out was not that difficult. I am confident swapping it out here will be easy as well.

I think you're on to something. That company should start making custom bottom pieces and put different pictures on them, your name, logos, etc. lol
