You can go to advance back up but then you get errors at bookmark backup or map locations.
So i said BY BY 216 and back to 210 ! and guess what way smoother os and no more headaches !

Thanks for the suggestion. I did try it...twice actually (prior to writing the post). But still no improvement. It's the multitude of problems (none of which I've experienced before) that baffles me.

Was trying to post the same version for EastAsia Language, however I made less than 10 posts so far.

Anyways, it is available from Hutchinson. I will probably have to boost up my post count. :P

Depending on which company released these applications, they can be tweaked by RIM based on the specifications that the Telco wishes.
I am not sure if the Telco tweaks the application software themselves though.

There are slight differences between same version different companies. The subtle differences can be noticed on how much dependence the phone uses on the 3G/EDGE vs WiFi.

hey guys. I have this weird problem. well, not me but my gf. Im trying to help upgrade from 190 to 216. we've downloaded the 216, installed it, deleted vendor.xml, plugged in the bold and the bugger DOWNGRADED to 162.

SO I deleted all the previously installed os's on the computer. REdownloaded 216, deleted the vendorxml, plugged the bold in.. and it doesnt recognize an os update.

ANY ideas whats going on here at all ?

Maybe try and manually "Loader.exe" which is in the same location as the "vendor.xml" you deleted...

well when you do a downgrade or upgrade in os the backup does seem to wrk from the last loader backup file. As long as you did not delete it.

Default OS silly question but I have to ask

Hey this is going to seem really obvious but I keep getting confused. is the Higer the last three numbers in the OS version mean its the latest version OR is the lower the number mean its the newer? example I am using v4.6.0.217 platform 4.0.0.185 so is this newer than the one posted here? or do I need the one that is posted here?

thank you in advance!
Silly I know...lol

* My wi-fi, which worked fine in the 2 locations I'd set up for it, is not working. I can't manually activate either location. With .190, the device would automatically link to the networks.

From the discussion, I'm concluding my issues with .216 are much more substantial than most people. Any recommendations?
restart the router.

Did the upgrade to .216. Bold seems faster. Though, lost the memory cleaner application on the .216. Can't seem to find it anywhere on the bold.
