Default 4.5 OS Upgrade problem (yes another thread)

Please Login to Remove!

Ok so I dl'ed the 8300 4.5 OS and installed it to my PC then delted the vendor.xml file. When i open DM I dont get the option to upgrade so I went to advanced and browsed to the folder with the installed os and It says that I have no applications designed for my device.

In DM when I go to about DM and then to Device Software it says I have 4.5 installed. Under device properties and on my phone itself it shows I have 4.2.2. I have DM 4.6 installed and I have tried this several times but I just cant get the upgrade to work. Any ideas?

Are you sure you downloaded and installed OS 4.5 specifically for the 8300? (not the 8310, 8320 or 8330)
What is the exact version number that shows in DM when you go to About / Device Software?

Did you delete the vendor.xml file AFTER you installed the OS on your PC?

I had this problem.. I could not get it fixed. My hard drive crashed (not related to anything blackberry) and got a new from dell. Reloaded everything got the latest os for my curve and it worked..

I would suggest trying the whole thing on another computer and see if that takes..

Let me know if that helps at all.. I worked on that issue for like a week and was pulling what is left of my hair out..

In some cases I've had to open the App Loader to kick off the upgrade. Double check that you deleted vendor.xml. Also make sure that you closed and re-opened DM.
