Default Stuck IT Policy

Please Login to Remove!

Running BES 4.1.6 with Exchange 2007 SP1, i have an issue where the BES thinks user is in IT Policy A, but I have pushed a new Policy to them (Policy B) and eventhough the device is showing the Policy B has been applied, BES Advanced user info' shows that Policy A is still appllied to this user.

How do I refresh this from BES ? i.e. How do I update BES to know that the user is running Policy B.

I have done the normal things i.e. I have resent service books, rebooted device, re-assigned Policy B, regenerated encryption key on device, reloaded User and nothing has worked.

I'd try assigning a "blank policy" as an intermediate step. That will remove all old policy data from the device. Then apply the new policy.

How much time has passed by? I've been told several times that the BAS is not "up to the second" on changes. I've had the same issues, but once I stop starring at it and trying to refresh it to state what I know should be on it, it does adjust itself. You have to give it a little for it to update itself.

4.1.6 doesn't use BAS, it uses BlackBerry Manager.

I had an issue with ITAdminQUEUE in the database before.

You can delete all the entries in the table and IT policy will be sent again.

Backup the database just in case

Is the device itself showing the new IT Policy (under Options > Security Options > Information)?. If so, it is just a matter of reporting back to the BES. This can take 24 hours or so.

No need to do anything as the new Policy is applied.
