How does one cancel the confirmation request each time one attempts to delete?

In the trackwheel versions, eg my previous 8700, one could select options in messages or contacts and choose 'no confirmations' but that option isn't available in the 8300 that I bought today.

I must say that it's much more of an improvement than I expected and although the web price was shown as £175 with the minimum £15 per month data only cost, when I went to an O2 shop it was only £60 which is remarkable for a phone that only became avalaible the previous day.
