good idea though.
Hi there,

we have posted an update.

Now you can not just quickly browse your tasks, but also:

- create a task
- edit a task

More functions are being added right now.

Thank you for your support!

Just downloaded.

Suggestion: Add a "details" pane at the bottom of the screen, so that simply scrolling to a task would display the tasks details in the details pane?

While this will reduce how many tasks can be displayed at one time, it will allow people to quickly view the most important details...due date, status, etc.

Perhaps allow people to toggle the details view on/off? What do other people think?

also, any way to get the item to open with trackball click or enter instead of going thru a menu?

maybe check an item complete and have a box and actually check the item, (it makes me feel good when i have a large list of tasks and i complete them and have them checked for that day) hahaaha

Thank you for the suggestions,

we'll definitely implement some of them.

Also, the software will be available for a low price (just like the rest of our apps).

We will post another update in a couple of days and will be looking forward to your suggestions!

Again, thank you!

i just tried it but I hope more features are coming.

I can't find a way to delete a task. It seems it is only allowing me to create a task and be done with that.

What are they basic functionalities included in this release 0.0?

I have to agree here. I do like the shell of the program as it greatly improves the current blackberry task view. That being said there are some basic functions that need to be added in order for anyone to shell out some cash for it.

> Complete Editing capability. Date, Priority, Alarm/Reminder, Category... need to be able to modified form MagicTask.
> Sorting and Filtering Capability. Users will want to view only today's taks, overdue tasks, tomorrows tasks, tasks in a category.....Users will also want to customize in what order tasks show up in their view either by due date, category, subject (don't forget this one), and have two or three sort priority levels available minimum. Also the ability to hide tasks that are completed.
> Maybe a function that allows a user to delete completed tasks older than X days old to keep the database size down.
> A way to handle recurring tasks efficiently where they can be marked complete on the Blackberry and regenerate properly and sync properly to outlook.
> Potential of linking contacts to a task in such a way that if I have a task open I could call, email or sms without having to leave MagicTask and go to the other program.

It downloaded fine. I guess it depends on how much you use the function. I do like the appearance.

Agree with most of the suggestions above for some way to delete/add a task. Nice view of the task but I can not see the due date as it is cut off after the year. Keep up the good work. Also might be useful if you could define different categories or filters to implement the GTD (getting things done) system a lot of people find useful.

Hi there,

first of all - thank you for your suggestion.

We have added category based browsing (in addition of "due date"). Please have a look.

What do you think is the next most important feature?

Thank you so much for your guidance!

I could not download the new version from the OTA site.

The order of importance to me:
> Sorting rules
> Re-do/recurring tasks features.
> Hide completed tasks

Any other beta testers have comments/opinions on my suggestion that he add a "Preview Pane" at the bottom, so that simply scrolling to one of the listed To Do's would bring up details on that item, displayed in a small, say two line window at the bottom of the screen?

It would eliminate having to open the To Do, to view many of it's most important details, but you'd have to give up a few To Do's in the list (perhaps two lines?)

For me, it'd be nice to just scroll to hightlight an item, and quickly see it's details.

You could also add a hot key, say, the "op" key, to toggle the Preview Pane on/off. That way, you wouldn't even have to reduce how many to-do's are displayed... toggle the Preview Pane off, you'd have, say, 15 or 16 tasks displayed, toggle the Preview Pane on, and it would be reduced to 13 or 14, but dispaly critical info on the highlighted item.

Thoughts?

I think it would be worth 2 lines of tasks to have the preview. Many of my tasks look about the same and must be opened to really see what they are. I vote for that next.
