Wow, you couldn't be more wrong here.
You have absolutely NO IDEA what UMA is. Read and learn before posting. Seriously.

Say what you want. The fact is that Chinese internet blocks all the sites that are somehow suddenly accessible when the phone switches to UMA. If the data is being accessed locally, via the WiFi hotspot I am connected to it would be subject to the Chinese censorship. The data came from the USA... But I guess you have been to China and done this, right?

Generic Access Network - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Your handset might use UMA, but, this does not relate to hooking up your PC to the Blackberry and using Internet through something like a Dial-Up connection to your Wireless provider in your home-country.

Is there a way to shrink the OS? If it was just 30mb smaller, it'd be usable.

Default BIS E-Mail Setup Issues?? - T-Mobile 9700

First off, I'm loving the OS. Much improved over 5. However, there's one major issue I've run into so far. I am unable to setup any BIS e-mail accounts on the phone. When I select "Email Account Management", I get a "Connecting to email settings" message that appears briefly on the screen and then I receive a message "The application has encountered an error and cannot continue"

Anyone else running into this issue? I called T-Mobile last night and had them re-provision my phone, and resend the service books but still having the same problem. I'd really like to get my BIS accounts running. Hope someone here can help. Thanks.

BTW - I did a full OS wipe before installing OS 6.

Anyone else experiencing the browser draining the battery really quickly? I streamed a couple youtube videos of SC2 and after about 30-45 minutes my battery was already half. I can listen to music do whatever and the battery seems pretty stable but browser usage = game over :(.

So it's been about 24 hours and I've not charged my phone yet.

I didn't have a full charge yesterday but I'm at 75% battery.

I'm going to report what it is tomorrow morning.

I typically put in 40 minutes of music a day, I receive up to 30-40 emails a day. Wi-fi is always on, and I will browse BBM and text message a bit.

So far it looks like this OS has some vastly improved battery life.

Yes.. I'm noticing this issue.. On my 9700, the battery is not actually being drained, but the indicator appears to be messed up. I'm at 60%, then jumps to 8%. Battery pull or plugging into charger causes it to go back to 60% instantly.

That's strange - should not be erring out like that. Mine works perfectly, and I DIDN'T do a full OS wipe, though...when you "upgrade", it does it in any case. Both Enterprise activation and E-mail setup through BIS worked perfectly during my upgrade.

Steve - I have a feeling that this is somehow carrier related. I see you are on another carrier, not T-Mobile.

I initially thought it had something to do with the service books from my BIS accounts getting pushed out from my BES when I run the Enterprise Activation, but that doesn't seem to be the case. To troubleshoot, I did another full wipe of the device, reloaded the OS, and tried to go into the BIS e-mail setup before I activated on the BES. Run into the same error. Very strange? No?

Anyone out there on the T-Mobile network able to setup BIS e-mail?? I just want to know if it's working for anybody....Or if this is an issue for all T-Mobile users. My gut is telling me that it has something to do with the Carrier's support for OS6....Since T-Mobile doesn't have any OS6 devices released yet, it might not be officially supported just yet.

That happened to me once as well it was at like 30% then dropped to empty as soon as I went to broswer. I pulled the batter and it went back. I hope my battery issues with the browser is due to not settling in yet haha. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I haven't run into this issue but i have noticed that when restore files from OS 5.0 to 6.0 that there is some issues. only thing i restored was my BBm and my Address Book. this is with the Rogers network, my friend on a Telus network restored completely and was unable to send SMS messages, he since then cleared the database for sms and everything works fine now.
