So, here's the story... I ordered a Blackberry 6280 off of eBay that said it would work for AT&T and Cingular services. Well the thing arrived in an AT&T box (strike one). I open it and start to charge it and throw my sim card I have with Cingular into the unit "invalid sim card" it tells me (strike two). So it appears I still need to have this unlocked. I've searched for over a week on the internet now find out "the best way" to go about and do this. There's about a million answers to this I know. Whether its free or not, I need to know what to do before I hit strike three and throw it out the window. It came with an AT&T sim card already installed but doesn't do me much good. I just need to know who to contact i.e. a service provider or the actual manufacturer or a company that I have to, God forbid, pay to unlock this thing. I'm already a huge fan of the blackberry even though I can't use all the functions. But I can sync it to my Mac! Any help/advice you have for me would be greatly appreciated!

For ATT, you have to have the device hardware unlocked. bongo wireless will do this if I remember right, but for a charge. That is the only way to get ATT devices unlocked right now.
