Hi everyone:

I have the following problem.

I recently "downgraded" from Windows Vista to Windows XP on my Dell Laptop (M1210), reinstalled all of my drivers, etc, including the Widcomm Bluetooth stack that came with it.

One of my main reasons for "downgrading" (other than inability to install Sp-1, etc) was that I knew I would be able to use the A2DP functions of my bluetooth headset in Windows XP, which I now can.

However, with the Widcomm Stack installed, I now cannot sync my BB8130 wirelessly with Desktop Manager.

It is my understanding that if I uninstally the Widcomm Stack and go only for Microsoft, A2DP is disabled, but I will get my sync back.

Is there anyway to Sync on BB Desktop Manager AS WELL AS keep the A2DP capabilities on my machine? Am I wrong in assuming that the Microsoft Bluetooth Stack in XP (I'm running SP3) disables A2DP?

As I understand it, it's more that Microsoft doesn't actually support A2DP in XP. They leave it up to the 3rd parties to provide the A2DP support. As long as they're not Widcomm, which apparently uses its own interface instead of Microsoft's. In a reasonable world, RIM would work with Widcomm.

I've been frustrated by the same limitation...I've ended up deciding the BT sync w/my BB is more important than the A2DP, but do wish there was an option to have both w/out Widcomm.

I hear you... I might go the other way, however.

I'm a Wii player as well, and I find the fact that they haven't integrated a headset type chat program into the system GREATLY annoying. So I plan on using skype with the BT headset to chat with friends conferenced in. The BT head set is perfect for that -- easy to communicate and easy to hear the TV as well.

I agree with you guys, I bought a bluetooth headset to listen to music while at work. So now I have to decide if I want BB sync or music... This sucks...
