Default blackberry 8300 cant figure it out...

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I am struggling to do a simple task, maybe I am just missing something basic here. But all I want to do is browse BlackBerry Files (Emails, Sms, etc) from within Windows...Something like windows explorer that will let me browse through and open up emails on my blackberry.

Anyone have any idea on how to do this? This seems like a pretty standard feature but yet I cannot find out how to do it!! Hope someone out there has run into this problem before...

Wirelessly posted (Verizon 8830)

Under the current OS, what you are requesting is not available. Good idea however.

hmm surely it must be possible, even if by third party software??

I found one such app that comes close
eWorks™ is an integrated solution for email management, PIM solution for RIM BlackBerryxxx174;, DynoPlex Inc.

but the problem with it is that it only lets you see a list of emails (does not let you open any). then you have to copy over each one you want to open to local outlook folder to open. which is pretty useless. so they almost got it right, which would lead me to believe maybe there is something else out there that does the job properly???

Nope. That stuff is stored in the messaging databases on the device. You can't just connect a USB cable and browse (it would certainly be documented if it was a standard feature).

Oh I agree, it seems this functionality isn't supported out of the box. But I would have thought that there is a 3rd party app that will let me do that? Does anyone know of any?

All I really want is to be able to browse the emails on my blackberry from my desktop pc...

something tells me that you are coming from a windows mobile smartphone...am i right? lol. they have a really interesting computer interface which, when plugged into a computer, allows you to completely control the phone from the computer (including making calls, reading email, sending texts, etc)
