Default Help with 6710

Please Login to Remove!

I just got a 6710 that I will be using on At&t. I have some questions.

1. Why won't the USB cable from my 7730 work with this phone? Do 6700 series have their own chargers and cradles?

2. How can I change the IT policy so that it doesn't go into screen lock every 5 mins?

3. Can I update the font selections?

4. Can I put brick breaker on this phone?

1 - the USB cable is the same. Was this (ancient) 6710 working before?
2 - search on "Remove IT Policy"
3 - Fonts are part of the OS. That's it.
4 - Try upgrading the OS and see if BrickBreaker is included.

The 6710 is really, really old.

thanks for your quick reply.

I have a 7730 with an OEM charging cradle that says "for use with 7700 series only" on the bottom. I also have an OEM USB cable. Neither cable will recognize or charge any of my 6710's (I have 5).

I recently purchase a used OEM wall charger that says it is for 6700 series only, but I don't get it, because the actual plug that goes into the phone is the same. I haven't gotten this charger in the mail yet, but I hope to get it soon.

In the meantime I can use one of my old 7730s to charge the batteries and then put them in the 6710 but that is super tedious.

I guess it is hopeless to assume I can upgrade the OS unless I can get the device to be recognized via a sync cable.

I have seen a 6700 series serial charger on Amazon, maybe I should buy that? The kind with the serial plug and the wall adaptor? Is that what I need?

I wish I could give you an answer. I haven't seen a 6710 in years.
