Default Phone Applet Gone After OS Upgrade!

Please Login to Remove!

I finally upgraded to OS v5...461 and now the good ole' trusty phone applet is nowhere to be found. I'm talking about the one that had a handset icon and a history of previous calls. I don't know what calls I missed anymore. What happened to it? Thanks

Interesting, didn't know that you could lose that. I thought it was part of the core os.

Maybe you should go back and check the os options to make sure you had it selected (even though I didn't know you could uncheck it).

It is likely hidden in some folder. Look in the applications folder.

BTW - hit the green phone key...

I had found the same thing... Here's a solution...

1. Go to applications screen
2. Click on the "Applications" folder
3. Press the menu/Blackberry button
4. Select "Show all"

You should see a couple of icons appear; typically phone, compose and saved messages icons appear.

5. Scroll to the "Phone" icon and press the menu/Blackberry button.
6. Untick "Hide" by clicking on the word "Hide" (will probably have a tick next to it.

The Phone icon should now be bright like the other icons in the folder.
You can then move this icon to your home folder by...

1. Scroll to the "Phone" icon and press the menu/Blackberry button.
2. Select "move to folder"
3. Select/click "Home"

You can then move this icon to your home screen (theme permitting) by...

1. Scroll to the "Phone" icon and press the menu/Blackberry button.
2. Select "move"
3. Move the icon to the preferred location (typically in the first six)
4. Click the trackball/trackpad

Violla....

Hope that helps.

Bingo! Thank you brother. It was hidden in the Applications folder. A follow on question; do you know how I can get it on the home screen? It doesn't seem to be following the same old method of moving applets as before. I have moved the applet out of applications and as far up as I can. But it still refuses to show up the home screen.

Thanks

You have to "unhide" it...

You should see a couple of icons appear; typically phone, compose and saved messages icons appear.

5. Scroll to the "Phone" icon and press the menu/Blackberry button.
6. Untick "Hide" by clicking on the word "Hide" (will probably have a tick next to it.
