Cool 8830 Case - Which Way?

Please Login to Remove!

Which way does the 8830 slide into the OEM leather case, with the screen facing the clip area or the screen facing the other way?

Both ways seem to protect the screen fine and shut the unit off when holstered, i couldnt find anything in the manual/book that came with it.

Thanks,
T.

Personaly preference. I've always preferred the screen facing toward the clip, myself.

Either way works. I use facing in because of the way I unholster (othwerwise I'd have to unholster and flip).

Facing out away from me, because I use the LED as a message indicator, and need to be able to see it.

Facing in too, but that means I tend to hit the convenience key when holstering. Might switch as a result.

Default Face in because.....

I like it face in since it makes it easier to view after removing.

There also is a slotted area on the side of the case towards you which
keeps the trackball from being turned or pressed as you slide it in, out.
When I had tried it facing out, it would alsoways be on a different screen
or icon after I removed it.

Same here. Seems like the LED would be more difficult to see facing out since it would be further back. Face-in also places the mute key conveniently for silencing rings while holstered.

Interesting, I never actually noticed that before you pointed it out.

True that it's further back, but when it's face in, the LED is hard to see when it's holstered on my belt, because it's right next to it pretty close.
