Default 7130e battery life?

Please Login to Remove!

So I know that there have already been topics posted on the battery life, but I couldn't seem to find any good conclusion on peoples' opinions about the battery life on the 7130e.

For some reason, my battery life seems to drain very quickly. I'm in the LA Area, and usually always have 1XEV signal. Even during days when I don't use the phone much (for calls, emails, sms, etc.), it still seems to drain to about 70-75% of the day..is this normal? For example, today, I received ONE SMS message, and made a call for about 25 minutes, and it drained down to 80%.

I charge overnight every night..could that be a problem as well?

Any ideas?

If your phone is only going down to 70% after one day, seems like there is not a problem. Shouldn't be below 30% after two...and on the third day you charge again.

Are you using a blue tooth ear piece? If so shut the blue tooth signal down when not in use. Seemed to give me more battery life. I would run down to 2 bars at the end of the day before but now stays above 3/4 at the end of the day.

i only use the bluetooth when i'm in the car, and after that, i shut the bluetooth off. you say that you run to 2 bars? are you using the verizon theme or the bbtheme?

actually, i didn't charge last night, and this morning, i was to 70%..now i'm at 65%, so it seems to be okay if i'm not under 30% tonight.

The 7130e has the poorest battery life of all the BB's. You should consider an extended battery, if you are having problems.

Battery Life Optimization
1. The largest draw on battery life is the transmitter, so if you are transmitting a lot (heavy phone use or a Notifylink email push setting < 6 minutes), you can expect reduced battery life. If you are experiencing extremely poor battery life (<8 hours) you may have a bad battery.
2. The second largest draw is the backlight. Changing the settings in Settingsxxx61664; Screen/Keyboard to something similar to the picture below will help.
3. Being in fringe or no coverage areas will deplete your battery as it repeatedly attempts to transmit. If you're in an area that is out of range, turn your BB's radio off manually
.
4.Configure the Auto On/Off feature (see instructions below):

4a.) From the Home screen, choose xxx8220;Settingsxxx8221;
4b. ) Choose Auto On/Off
4c.) Adjust these settings to your liking.
4d.) When finished please click the thumb-wheel and choose xxx8220;savexxx8221;.

My 7130e also has problems draining the battery. It just started happening withing the last couple of weeks. I have contacted Bell Mobility and they will be replacing the device, it seems there might be a problem with the antenna. I noticed that the device kept switching from 1x, 1X and 1XEV signals in places that it never use to. Anyways, hopefully the new device will work.

I can easily go two days between charges with normal usage - including email, web, and phone. I have thought about an extended battery, but think I am going to go with an extra standard battery and a universal USB/Mini-USB car charger adapter.

Uhg..
Verizon sells it on their site but it doesnt say if it comes with the extended door so i didnt buy it from them.

I have a 7130e from Sprint. It really depends on how good your reception is, but for a device with that kind of screen, you can't expect more then a day or two. I had an 8700c and the battery life was basically the same, it would sometimes go 3-4, but that was b/c the service at my house is better for Cingular.

I have had my 7130e for approximately 3 months and for the first 2 3/4 months, it was perfect, no calls went to voice mail, battery life was great, etc..

Around the time of the Daylight Savings Time a few weeks ago, suddenly my battery life only last 7 hours (when I do not use it, less when I talk/email) and most of my calls are calling straight to voice mail and not ringing. Any connections to DST, even though I got the Patch?

Thanks

My 7130c returns great run time on the battery, just as good as the my 8700c.

I travel for work and use my BB heavily each day. I get two full 12 hr. days out of a charge, and recharge it on the third day.

The exception being if I forget to turn off BlueTooth when I'm not using it. The other rountines I follow is when in areas of poor or no reception I turn off the wireless. And finally I adjust the display brightness down as it's so much brighter than I need under most conditions. That's one of the many great features I like about the BB Platform, is one has several options to conserve battery life.

Compared to my Treos, Moto-Q and Blackjack of the past, the BlackBerry's I have all return superb battery life, as well as being the completely reliable and fast. I am completely satisfied with the BlackBerry platform.

Cheers....

I get about 1 1/2 to 3 days of battery power on my bb 7130e with out charging it.
Are you running a up to date os on your BB? Because one of the issues that vzw fixed was a battery life problem with there official os when they moved from .117 to .286....
