Makes a stronger case for it being a nextel/network issue. Have you tried contacting them and explain that your TCP applications have started to fail? Avoid mentioninng a particular product because that gives them the out of saying 'we don't support 3rd part apps'. If you find something out, let us know.

I changed the settings to 'use device tcp' and still receive the same error. I try to avoid calling customer care so, I won't be doing all of that. Hopefully, it just starts working again.

Ramble still works here, got T-Mobile and a 7100t... my only issue, is because the T-Mobile network gets pretty junky reception that an autoconnect feature would be nice so when people do loose reception, once the blackberry comes back online then so does Ramble. - Right now it just halts and doesn't say its off or anything; you just have to figure out that its probibly disconnected and reconnect manualy.

If you never loose reception, the program is very good. Though personaly I'm debating to shell out and buy IM+ just because it reconnects automatically.

There appear to be some network issues with Nextel and Verizon lately. One user got a response from Verizon that Verizon is moving their users to a 'protected ip pool' where the Verizon network will kill and connection that is dormant for 5 min or more. This shouldn't break Ramble (although it might disconnect after 5 mins, it should reconnect), but the migration from unprotected IP pool to protected IP pool could be causing a problem for many users.

I haven't heard of anything like this from Nextel, so it is just conjecture. Ramble still works on my 7520, so it isn't an AOL or software issue.

It seems that the networks are doing something (Verizon apparently is) that is disrupting service for some of their users.

Did anyone have their connection stop working for a few days only to have it begin working again? It isn't clear how long this migration might effect a user.

With TOC2, your buddy list includes a formatted name as well as a screen name. I suppose if AOL wanted to associate the two and deliver the real name as the formatted name, it could, and you'd see what you are.

I have searched on this to no end. What are the pro's and con's of using Ramble in comparison to the IM built in on my 7100t from TMO. I am using software 4.0 on the handheld and I can use either AIM, MSN, Yahoo, or ICQ (although AIM is the only messanger I use). If anyone could help out or let me know if there is a thread to this that would be great.

Pro Ramble is FREE and it works
Con IM+ is not and it doesn't (Tongue in cheek, I had a hard time setting it up and did not want to shell out 44.95 for it)

I guess I am confused Tiki, what did you shell out $44 for? I have unlimited data and I have not ever been charged extra to use the IM client that was part of the 4.0 upgrad.

Haven't been able to login for a week on my 7520. Earlier in the week I got some kind of Bad DNS message. Now it just stays at the login screen.

I recently had that problem, I unistalled it, rebooted, reinstalled the application and it has been working like a charm since. Sometimes apps I think get a little twisted and you sort of have to justle them back into reality, sort of show them who is boss. Let me know if you try that and it works.
