Hey Shivam, I'm personally working on getting the Unlock Codes from Rogers Currently trying to see what I can do I know that if you do *#06# it gives you your IMEI Then I went into Options, Advanced Options, Sim and although it didn't say anything while I typed it I spelled meppd and that gave me the sim settings, then I typed mepp2 and that gave me the Network MEP Code area, Once I find out how to get that code I'll let you know, BTW though if you go to the website blackberry unlock - unlocking gsm blackberry or calgarycellunlockers calgary cell unlockers, call 2UNLOCK they can help you there but see if you can get the unlock code first if you do please email me at [email address] and let me know how you did it please. This goes for ANYONE if you find out how to get a Network MEP Code for Rogers please email me there and let me know how to get one please!

T-Mobile is not Rogers, so your statement really doesn't help the original poster or anyone else in this thread.

Generally, you must be subscribed to a service providor for at least 90 days before they will even allow you to request for an unlock code. And that's typical of most providors.

When you speak with a CSR or the like, you must guarantee them that you will be continuing your service with them.
Essentially the typical story is "I will be travelling to such-and-such country, and I will be using local service there on a pre-paid SIM card."

And they will understand and allow you to unlock your device.

They say up to 7 days for the code, but depending on the manufacturer, it usually takes 24-48 hours.

* I can't speak for Rogers/Fido... but I can suggest that being "upset" with your inability to carry your device overseas is something you can push, and threaten to disconnect service.
About all I can say regarding that, haha. No promises!

I can tell you right now, Rogers/Fido will not give an unlock code, no matter what the reason. We both have deleted all software and programs needed to generate one.

Me being an employee and knowing everyone in tech support, and i still couldnt get one...

so no matter how much you threaten to cancel, or leave or say your going over seasa you will not get one... sorry

Last month i went to India, From there i called Cingular support (My current service provider) and told him that i am on Business trip for 1month need to unlock my phone so i can use with local complany. The support guy was very friendly and he helped me to unlock the phone for free.
Btw i was just 10days old customer at that time with Cingular.

There is no such thing has a free code. You will not get the code from Rogers, no matter how hard you beg, threaten them. Anything you try, they stopped giving codes out. You can unlock any Blackberry phone (or most Rogers/Fido phones). Visit Global Unlock - Rogers and Fido Unlocking Service

This includes all the 8100 8300 8700 & 8800.

Thanks and feel free to email me at [email address] if you got any questions.

Sorry to disagree but there is such a thing as a free code. I just called AT&T for my 8300 and they fixed me up. They verify your info and open a case. Usually takes about a week and they email you the instructions along with the code. Hope this helps any of you AT&T users out there. BTW I just dialed 611 from my phone.

AT&T & TMobile will give codes to their good customers. Rogers doesn't.

if you read his post then you would know he was refering to rogers and fido... not ATT

My apologies...I wrongly assumed when you made the general statement you were referring to any provider
