Default Bluetooth Transfer - PC to BB Media Card

Please Login to Remove!

I've searched the forums pretty extensively with issues transferring larger files (10-40mb) via bluetooth and found answers including;

Tutorials on how to transfer (receive via bluetooth from media player)
Bluetooth only receives 2mb files unless you have a media card (with no further explanation)
You need a media card to get larger files (with no further explanation)

So, It sounds like, with a media card, I should be able to d/l a 13mb audio file from my PC to my media card on Blackberry.

Problem is I can't and haven't found an explanation or instruction on how to do so. I have successfully moved a file that was about 1.4mb, but anything I assume 2mb or more gets a "request failed" or something, notice on the PC.

I am sure to be directing the file be saved on the media card.

HOW (if possible) Can I bluetooth larger files to my BB? as I prefer not to USB connect if at all.

8330 v.4.5.0.127

Thank you

I dont think a lot of people use bluetooth, and sometimes its functionality is a bit hit-and-miss. That might explain why there are more views than answers. I still can't figure out BT synching.

And Bluetooth transfers are pokey, pokey slow. I can connect and disconnect the USB cable a dozen times in the time it takes to transfer a large file via Bluetooth.

Were the BT settings that you listed on your device (BlackBerry)?

Your desktop may not support those services (lack of driver perhaps?)

It was listed on the device,

I know my PC can do it because I've done it with numerous other devices and it is included in a long list of service for my BT adapter.

Dont know what might be the issue. Could be the device. A lot of users have had issues getting their devices to play nicely with their computers like during BT synching. So whatever the issue might be, could carry over to why you are having issues with your transfers.

I am liking this so I am posting my view. Atleast let me tell you that you are not the first one dealing withy this. Well, bluetooth on BB is not designed to handle large files. The processor and the device memory on the 8300 series are just about strong enough to handle basic bluetooth functions. For that matter most of the mobile devices have this problem and that is primarily due to hardware limitations and bottlenecks. So what you trying to achieve is Herculian as far as the device is concerned.

USB is the correct and the only way to do it.Also remember that the 8300 series hardware is quite basic when it comes to handling multimedia. Also the security features with relation to bluetooth on the BB are very stringent so thats why the logical explaination that the BB drops the connection thinking that its being misused.

Sorry not the most techmical of explainations but thats your answer. Cheers!
