Default Document transfer to BB

Please Login to Remove!

I have a couple old BB 8320 devices. I need a small, erasable device to hold passwords when I travel. As I recall that device has a Factory Reset if the correct password is not entered in 10 tries.

I hooked these devices up to my PC. They come up just fine even if the balls are still their cantankerous selves.

How do I get the *.txt files from the PC into the 8320 and then find them in the device? I've messed around with it but can't seem to figure it out. While hooked to the PC they go into a user>documents file. But then I can't find them in the device.

Maybe better just to put them in the trash? I hate to do that if I can figure out a current use.

did you transfer to the OS area or the SD card?

Did you use desktop manager?

Transferred to device.

Used Device Manager and then tried Drag and Drop and Move in Win8.

Files would transfer. Could be located in the device directory while connected but not in device directly. Nor could be opened in device.

If your looking for password keeper it should be on the BB standard already. I use it all the time. It's simple and secure.

Yes it is.

The problem is not in finding Password Keeper. The problem is in transferring all the passwords and other data from the PC into it. If I can do it in one file the idea flies. If I can't then it dies and the Curves go to the trash. That would be a waste.

Right now, from my tests I can enter each item individually. But, for all of them that is an unreasonable burden. If I can just transfer the data in a file from a PC then it makes the idea fly.

Your not understandiing the applications that keep passwords. If they allowed the files to be transfered to any other application why would you need a secure password app? Just use a note pad file.
A bit of work to keep passwords secure should not be such a burden that your going to toss the phones. You sound like you need to get a flip phone and carry a laptop to do what you want with less stress in your life.

Nope, I think you don't understand what I'm trying to do.

I'm trying to keep a block of confidential data on the phone. With the Curve it doesn't have to be in Password Keeper to be secure enough for what I want to do. The device itself will reset to factory if the correct password isn't entered in 10 tries. So, anyplace on the phone is OK as long as it is accessible.

Right now I can transfer the file in any number of formats. But, either I can't find it using phone controls, or, when I do find it, I get the message it can only be opened by a PC, not the phone.

When I get that message I can, in fact, transfer the file to a PC and read the data. Of course that isn't what I want to do. I want to read it on the phone.

Don't read any stress into this. I happen to have the phones from when I used them. I would like to have the access information with me on another device than my laptop. If I can use the phones fine.

But so far no one has figured out how to get the file with the information from the PC to the Curve and have it independently readable on the Curve. Maybe it can't be done.

Try saving the file as a word file and then transferring that file to the blackberry. Your phone should be able to open it. You can also try a pdf file.
