I have the same problem exactly. I am on my third curve and second battery. At the tmobile website forum there are two pages of similar complaints. tmobile phone support will only put you thru to rimm as a very last resort. the replacements are all refurbs to get a new replacement you have to pay over 80.00 and renew a two year contract. I am going to take the 200.00 hit and switch to an att i-phone. tmobile has no solution for this widespread problem and won't let you leave in peace.

I have a customer who is experiencing the same issue with Static after the first 10 seconds of the call. It keeps getting worse until the phone dies. Has anyone been able to solve the issue or has been replacing the phone the answer?

If your Curve is 18 months old or more, the problems described above typically come from the battery going bad.

This past summer I saw the same symptoms, and a new battery solved all problems.

Since the battery is Li-Ion, it will not show a gradual decrease in capacity. Thus the reason for thinking the battery is fully charged, then having the phone turn off (which is really the same as if you pulled the battery altogether).

One word of caution when replacing your battery. Be VERY wary of vendors selling batteries for $5-7. The battery used in C-S2 battery has been used for a long time now (I had the same battery with my 8700c years ago). The battery may seem fine when you first get it, but the actual life of the battery may be severely decreased (lasting weeks/months instead of months/years).

Ditto for me. This is the very reason I registered to this site so that I could find out if anyone else is having these issues. My husband has an 8310 also so we switched batteries this evening. Mine has gotten to the point that I can only make a call (and stay connected) if I am plugged into a charger. Within 3-4 minutes I hear the buzzing and BOOM it shuts completely down.

My wife's 8320 has been doing this for a few weeks now. I upgraded the OS to 4.5.0.255, did not resolve.

I called T-Mobile, and the woman I spoke with said it could be a memory card issue. she recommended we run the phone without the card for a few days and see if we still have the problem, and if not to reformat the card.
