Is there a way to set the browser view at the highest zoom level (largest view)? I don't like having to zoom in twice on every page I visit.

I don't think so, that is one of my biggest complaints about the BB Browser.

Try using the "column" view instead of the page view. It is really fugly on some sites but I've found that it helps to make a lot of sites legible instead of so tiny that you can't even read it.
