Default PocketMac Installation?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I want to be able to sync my BB 8800 to my Mac.

I read about PocketMac and concluded that is what I want. When following the links through BlackBerry - BlackBerry for Mac I am prompted to install Device Manager from the BB website; presumably this includes PocketMac also. Anyhow, the file that downloads after I select a version I think is suitable is a .msi file, but how does this run. I can't get it to.

I am I missing something key here.

Thanks.

John

Something is not right. The link you included does take you to the proper page on the Blackberry site. You should select the link on the bottom of the page to get the software and then select PocketMac 4.0.20 from the drop down list. Click on Download software on the bottom of the page.

You should be taken to a screen that asks for your name, etc. Fill in the info and click the link at the bottom and you should be all set.

BlackBerry - BlackBerry for Mac
then when is has a drop down, make sure to select pocketmac - not any desktop managers.
After you hit next you download the file - "PocketMacForBlackBerry4.dmg"

you found a windows version of something I think.

-As a user of pocketmac, my biggest bit of advice is to always make sure you launch pocketmac before you plug in the bb. it doesnt work unless you do it in that order.

I've heard the same about launching SyncManager before connecting the BB. Nothing official from PM ... just informal chatter between users. What is the official word from PM re 'launch before connect'?

BTW, I use a BB 8703e.

I use a 7130e (Verizon Wireless) with PocketMac on my G5 iMac. For me, it doesn't seem to matter if I launch PocketMac before or after I connect the BB to the USB cable. The sync works fine either way.

PocketMac continues to work flawlessly for me with the exception of the dates for tasks. Other than that (which PocketMac Anne says is being worked on), I have not problems with it.

PM for me has not reached the flawless level of performance yet. I still have to un-do several PM actions following a sync.

Thanks for responding.
