GZIP compression don't work using HTTP connection

Hi,
I have written an application and configured IIS so that they uses GZIP compression. The problem is that the response returned from the server is not compressed if I use a HTTP connection. However it work if I use HTTPS!
The question is what can I do to get GZIP compression working using a HTTP connection?
