Hi, I have a pearl 8100 and a regular data plan, (no BES or BIS). I would like to have more protection for my cellphone and the info that i store.
I read something about IT policies locking a blackberry to a specific sim.
Could i create my own IT policies without a BIS or BES to lock my phone to my sim??
I just want to experiment and learn more about bb on the process

Enable content protection and password protech the device. Your information will be safe (except media card). If you want more protection search for Robo-block.

You can enable Media Card encryption if you have a Media Card, Options -> Media Card.

Device password is definitely a must.

Make sure you sync and/or backup regularly as well.

Couldn't he just cut everything from his Media Card to Desktop, enable the Media Card encryption and paste it back in there? (Curious, I didn't know it won't encrypt what's on it already.)
