Red face Image Still On Screen

Please Login to Remove!

Ok, so I removed the battery from my Bold, then I look on the screen and the last image I had on the screen is still there. I wait 30 seconds, its faded but still there. I wait 60 seconds, faded, but I can still see it.

I come on here and I'm typing up this post, and. . . . .still there. I tilt it slightly to the light, and I can read everything that was (well still is) on the screen.

2 minutes without the battery in and I can still read what was on the screen last, albeit faded.

3 minutes, blank screen...whew!

So unfunded, unscientific research shows that it takes about 3 minutes for the BlackBerry Bold to dissipate all charge and show a blank screen.

Challenge?

You took the battery out while the device was on? I've only done that I think once and i don't remember the device staying powered on.

It's recommended to pull the battery while the device is powered on.

Whenever I pull the battery, I always turn off first.
Achieve the same results and have no problems.

I don't think the device knows and I believe that the BlackBerry is only truly off when the battery is out, the other times its just sleeping.

So has anyone done it and still see the images on the screen?

I've had to battery-pull a Bold before and had this same, shall we call it, issue. I thought it was kind of odd that it did that.

I just found it, shall we say "interesting" . Just wanted to make sure it wasn't just me.
