Excellent - it's got an application installer so I'll have even less use for my PC!

I e-mailed pocketmac about the "skipped" error. This is the response I received:

"Hi!

Thanks so much for testing this!

Could you try the following, and afterward, submit a PMSystemReport?

1. Reboot the Mac
2. Pull the battery out of the Pearl for 30 seconds, and replace it.
3. Check to see if the password is turned on in the Pearl.
4. If it's turned on, is content protection turned on? (If so, please turn
off)
5. If you have a microSD card installed, did you answer Yes or No on the
BlackBerry to the question about using it as a mass storage device? (You
should always answer yes.)
6. Attempt a new sync. If anything fails again, can you give me a
PMSystemReport? Click Help, System Report. PocketMac SyncManager will put
PMSystemReport.txt on your desktop. Just attach that to an email back to me.

Thanks very much!!!

--Anne B."

Seems to have cleared everything up for me. I did have a category "length" error when synching to entourage, but address book synched perfectly.

Oh, I did not think about that. I wonder if they are going to implement this?

Default Crashes when Syncing

I narrowed down the "crash" a little. The issue is it's not seeing the device as connected to pocketmac. The devices see it, since it's charing, but pocketmac doesn't see that the Blackberry is connected and can't sync.

I get that a lot to. If you close PM and start it again it usually fixes it. Don't know how you figured it out but I caught it by checking the PM log it says the BB pin is 0 when it cant connect to it.

I can see that in the logs as well, but I still can't get it to see the device. It's charging but PM doesn't see it as connected.

Tried rebooting, re-installing several times.

Hmmm.... beta code, go figure.

RIckyd, when you say it didnt work do you mean you couldn't download it or you couldn't install it?

pvantienen, what kind of mac are you using?

MacBook Pro, Intel inside.

2gb of RAM

Digging a little deeper I can see in /dev the three devices it created:

crw-rw-rw- 1 root wheel 10, 1 Sep 27 12:18 cu.BlackBerry8703e-BlackBe-1
crw-rw-rw- 1 root wheel 10, 51 Sep 27 20:52 cu.Blackberry
crw-rw-rw- 1 root wheel 10, 5 Sep 27 12:18 cu.Bluetooth-Modem
crw-rw-rw- 1 root wheel 10, 3 Sep 27 12:18 cu.Bluetooth-PDA-Sync

the actual cu.Blackberry doesn't exist when the device is unplugged, as soon as I plug it int and see that it's charging, the cu.Blackberry shows up. I am assuming it populates that with the connection type (bluetooth etc.)

it show is the following in the sync log:

===============================================
[08:47:14.478] 2006-09-27
[08:47:14.490] PocketMac SyncManager Started
[08:47:15.480] Blackberry -> /dev/cu.Blackberry
[08:47:15.734] BlackBerry device pin 0
[08:47:15.755] No device connected; unable to complete operation.
[08:47:15.756] Could not connect to BlackBerry; error code: 1

and Right now the PM software shows "Connect" but doesn't list any device.

I am stumped.

I just tried it on my new Pearl, and almost everything works. I can sync all my contact info, calendar, tasks, and notes. However, I can't quite get the bookmark feature to work. I clicked on the install button which installed the "special software". I checked to box to push my bookmarks. It created the application on my handheld. However, when I open the app, only the bookmark collections show up. If I select any of them and click on the trackball, I just get a menu with the options "About" and "Close". "About" shows info about the Bookmark Manager, and obviously "Close" closes the application. Anyone else having this experience? I'm using an Intel iMac.

Same thing happens to mine. The only links that show up are in my Other... folder in Safari. I have all of the bookmarks I want in this folder and they show up at the bottom of the list of folders, until the issue is fixed. I didn't move the bookmarks, just made copies of them.

I'm on a G5 PPC, DP1.8, OS 10.4.7

Hmmm.... It must just be an issue with the 8703e. i plugged the 'ol 7250 back in and it detected it right away. I was able to do a sync no problem. Unplugged the 7250, restarted the software, plugged the 8703 in, can't see it.

Today I inserted a 1 gb Micro SD card into my Pearl and now I cannot get PocketMac to sync. The process starts then hangs. I removed the SD card and the process worked (it in fact synced) but hanged at the end.

Anyone can help me resolve the issue?

Unhappy Shoot!

They appear to have taken down the file. Can someone post it somewhere else?

Pretty please?

pvantienen, have you tried using a different USB port? Based on the log PM cant read the PIN from your BB that means it is not connecting.

I just got an e-mail from PocketMac about the bookmarks issue that I was having.

"On the 8100, you must press the space bar key at the bottom of the keypad to expand the tree/node. Sorry about the confusion."

It was a very fast response. I would encourage all of you to e-mail the address referenced at the beginning of this thread if you have any problems/issues.
