Post How to tether BB 8310 to Mac via BT!

Please Login to Remove!

I just got mine working and thought I would share. I done this with my MacBook Pro running 10.5.x and my TMobile 8310. Any questions/comments are welcomed.

1. Download Fibble's modem script and be sure to donate if you can. You can find it here.
2. Follow the instruction and load the modem scripts.
3. Pair your BB to your Mac
4. Goto system preferences > Network
5. Choose Bluetooth and enter you Data information as shown (this is for TMobile) User/Pass - guest/guest

6. Then select Advanced and add the info from this screen

7. Click apply and give it a try!

Wirelessly posted (8130 Curve: BlackBerry8310/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

All you have to do is enter the info from the sceenshot under advance. I used the 8800 script.

Default Tethering 3820 Blackberry to MacBook

I've tried to download the Leopard scripts, but in the so-called UNZIP process, it only shows me a CONTENTS folder with the script files in them, including plists. As for the Blackberry.ccl folder, I manually created that folder myself in the Modem Scripts folder and moved the files from the "CONTENTS" folder into the folder I created.

On the screenshot that shows to select "Research in Motion" and "Blackberry xxxx", I cannot bring up "Research in Motion" as an option. I suppose that is why I still cannot dial in through my Blackberry.

What next?

Default Tethering 3820 Blackberry to MacBook - update

Okay, I figured out how to configure as you stated above. That all worked. However, after I tried to connect via Bluetooth, I received the Connecting... message at the top of the screen.. about a minute into the connecting process, I received the Disconnecting message, followed by an Internet Connect failure message: Failed to complete negotiation with the remote PPP server. Check configuration and retry.

I did this for all the scripts downloaded, with the same results.

I called T-Mobile and I got the traditional, "RIM does not support tethering the Blackberry with OS X" answer. (sigh)

Suggestions on what to try next?

Thanks in advance,
Jack

Seems like when I had that issue it had to do with the telphone number, username, and/or password. Also after you have confirmed this do a battery pull on your BB then try it.
