Exclamation Curve 8320 T-mobile Internet connection

Please Login to Remove!

I'm just a newbie and I need help.
I've just bought a Curve from T-mobile within family plan plus unlimitted message and no data service. I've also got a wireless router. So here the problem: I couldn't connect to the internet (web,web-mail...) normally with Wifi is on, but I could when removed the simcard. So there is any possible way to connect to the internet normally when i plug-in the simcard ? Of course, no more data service, I couldn't handle any rite now
I'm highly appreciated for your helps.

From what I understand, there are many apps that do not work without a BB dataplan. I do not have a WiFi enabled device (yet). Maybe these links will help:

I've already read all of them, but the problem is not the software, it's just the internet browser. I always received message to subscribe for data plan whenever i tried to go to a website, but it isn't happened when i remove the simcard.

Anyway,thank a lot for your help :D

The BB Browser will not work unless you have a BB data plan. You probably need to install OperaMini.

To use the browser with Wifi and no data plan, it is my understanding that you will need to call T-Mobile and have them add the Feature Enabler to your account.

Just a thought here, because this is the problem I had and I felt like a real dummy when I realized what it was...

I have to *allow* new devices onto my network, even if they have the correct security "password" to log onto it.

I use software called Network Magic for my home networking. When I first got this BB (April '08), I had a heck of a time getting it to connect via wifi with my router.

It would find the network, and I would punch in the security password, but connection would always fail. For the life of me, I couldn't figure it out, and was soooooo frustrated. I called T-mo BB help and they couldn't figure it out either.

Finally, I went into my networking software and lo-and-behold, there was an "add new device" option in there. Who knew?? lol.. I'm pretty darn computer literate, so felt like such a dummy when I realized what the problem was!

My daughter (college student) got the same phone a couple months ago, and we hooked hers up to it the other day when she was home with no problem at all. Not that it matters, but *after* we got it connected to my wifi, I went ahead and upgraded her OS (thru T-mo's website) to 4.5 OS as well.

Good luck and hopefully your problem is a simple as mine was!

Wirelessly posted (T-Mobile BB 8320 OS 4.5.0.81)

You have to set your default browser to hotspot browser, not T-Zones

If you want the browser to work, you just need to go into options and set the browser to "Hotspot Browser." To get the service books for AIM, Windows Live, etc., you will need to call up T-Mobile and ask for the feature enabler or voice addon.

A Blackberry Data Plan is required to use BB Messenger. You'll need to call T-Mobile to add the Feature Enabler, as already mentioned in this thread.

No, BB Messenger WILL NOT work without a Blackberry Data plan. It is a add-on that costs about $20 a month from T-Mobile.

The Feature Enabler is free.

Thank you so much. And what about the wi-fi, after seting the browser to Hotspot, do I need to do something else? can I acess the internet from my router at home without aad-ons or paying for data, or e-mail?

Once again, thank you.
