Sorry for the late response.... that is one of the error messages we are working on. What that means is that we do not have a mapped course in that zip code.

Did you send in a map? If yes, which one? I'll check wherein line it is.

I entered my zip first day when I downloaded and received the error.


I picked up local courses to other zipcodes.

Wirelessly - EXACTLY what we are doing! (adding to my original 'yes' as I am now at my keyboard...)

We provide the distance to the center, front and back of the green AS WELL as the distance to reach and carry an unlimited number of targets/hazards per hole. Taking this a bit further:

I was on a course this weekend that my in-laws live on. I went to every Kirby marker I could find and looked what GolfTraxx read VS. the Kirby. We were no more than two yards off at 225, 200, 175, 150, 12, 100 and 50 yards, and many times had zero difference. Basically dead-ON! Now, having played that course, I know that just knowing the distance to the center of the green is not enough. I need to know the distance to encroaching trees off of the tee, the distance to reach and carry over the fairway bunkers, creeks, lakes, etc.

By having golfers map their own courses and making them available to the rest of the world, we have both accurate data AND (BIG LETTERS here) LOCAL COURSE KNOWLEDGE built into each mapped course.

You actually can map a range... But it will count as much as a 400yd drive at the range

I live north of Chicago near the Wisconsin border. There are some pretty nice courses near hear, but most of them are just average.

Also, I haven't been out to a course yet, but I have run the app. It finds my local course (Zip is 60002, Antioch Country Club) and it pulls up the information, but it says that I am over 10 million yards away from the green. All of the markers (front, rear, center, and tee) all say the same distance.

If I use the default zip (92037) and pull up Torrey Pines North it shows that I am about 3 million yards away and the distances (front, rear, center, and tee) are different. I did the math and the 3 million yards seems about right (1720 miles from where I am).

I thought I read in a different post that if the course was shown on your website it was already mapped. Is it that the Antioch course is not mapped? Let me know because I would be glad to map a few.

fajville - Nice area for golf. There are some very nice private clubs in the area I hear...

WRT Antioch - the data you got back means that we have the scorecard in our database, but not the course coordinates. The info on Torre Pines, means that you have it properly installed

We just posted the latest build to the site and two significant improvements are included. The first is that Postal Codes are supported (use caps when entering) AND the back (IE do you want to exit) is now in (thanks to everyone who mentioned this.)

TMobile (BIS) and Telus are being "issues" for us right now. We are working as hard as we can to figure out the right comm config settings to get this working for you.
