Default question about 3G radio standards/carriers

Please Login to Remove!

i'm interested in picking up a vodafone branded storm, but i want to be sure that the 3G that is supported by the phone can be used with any GSM carrier that has 3G capability...

for example, is AT&T 3G the same as T-Mobile 3G ? Vodafone (Europe) 3G same as TIM (Europe) 3G ? etc...

thanks in advance.

GSM World - the website of the GSM Association
AT&T uses 850/1900, Storm supports 2100mhz.
Tmo uses 1700.
MOST carriers outside of NA use 2100mhz for 3G on the GSM side. NA is always difficult.

thanks Sith_Apprentice, it's an interesting site, but haven't spotted the info i needed on it, i'll have to dig around....

would the info i need be under 3GSM Platform, or HSDPA (under technology) ?

i take it by ur response that a UK or German Vodafone will not be 3G capable when used with a north american carrier.....

that's pretty depressing news.....
i do have a motorola razr V3x which is 3G capable, but i haven't used it for a while with my carrier (tmo). next chance i get i'll pop my sim in it to see if 3G works on it. just curious.
