Please Login to Remove!
What are you thoughts on the 8703e vs the new 8830 verizon model they have come out with. What one would you guys say is better?
I have heard the new 8830 has a very sensitive mic.

It's just me but I would wait for the Curve. On the other hand the 8830 is a definite improvement.

I would check them out when it comes out, when the new O.S. comes out for the 8830 series the big difference will be the size of the device, and the lack of the camera on the 8830.

Personally, I love my 8830 with VZW. IDK what information you're exactly looking for but it's a great device.

Same with me. I've had my 8830 for almost 2 months and it's a beautiful device!!! The only thing it doesn't have that the Curve does is a camera, but I have a 5MP digital already, so I don't need a camera on my phone.

I love my 8830. I don't miss a camera. I have a sim card and any images I want I just transfer from the camera to my sim card. The 8830, for me, is great. I tried a curve at an AT&T store and I didn't like the keyboard.
But it's a personal decision. Only you can make it. As far as performance. I don't think you would have any issues with Verizon.

I love my 8830 but would love a Curve even more. The only problem is I cannot have a camera at work. It would be nice if that was an option. I had to get the 8830 and sell my 8100 because of the camera policy at work. I loved, really loved, my Pearl. I stil miss it. And sure type was not that hard to get used to from my 7105.

I think the answer resides in that which you need from a device. If you travel internationally the Curve will not work for you (No SIM - Not World Edition). There are two glaring flaws in the 8830 - memory and memory. There is simply not enough on this device. Curve may have enough. Everything else is subjective. At the end of the day, I use my 8830 and really like it but I have optimized my memory though it is still an issue. I would like the Curve if it were a World enabled phone (I travel internationally 3 times a month). The best feeling and easiest to use size in my opinion is the Curve.
I have owned a pearl 857, 957, 7100i, 7230 (TMO), 7510, 7520, 8703, 8700c, 8100 (TMO), curve (ATT/TMO) and 8830 (VZW).

I'm curious as to what kind of memory problems your having? I have anywhere between 18 and 20 meg available to me depending on the amount of email and attachments I have on my device.

I have 1800 addresses, three years of appts, pocketday, empower email, pepid, biztrakit, vznavigator. I have removed ALL unnecessary files as described above and prior to loading any of these apps I had 24.5 mb free. I run a consulting business and get 100+ emails with attachments per day and will start every day with 12 to 13 mb free and by days end I have less than 6 mb free. I have learned to dump unneeded emails and attachments. I can not load eoffice as I will be out of mem though I could really use it to edit docs on the go. More mem would help. (I also dump the event log and the browser cache history every day). Mine is a very heavily optioned/used BB.

That's the best part about the Curve for VZW, it has 96mb of memory.
