Title: Domino crash or high shared memory usage may occur when dealing with large document

ProblemThe Lotus Domino® server may crash and/or reflect high shared memory usage relating to BLK_OPENED_NOTE. The issue occurs when there is a large document, usually a memo sent to multiple users, that typically has images pasted into a Rich Text field. NSD memcheck will show a high usage of BLK_OPENED_NOTE and in some cases, "Out of memory" warnings may occur.

Affecting Domino 6.0, 6.5, 7.0.

SolutionThis issue has been reported to Quality Engineering as SPR# RGET6MS6WB. Improvements have been made in Domino 8.0 which will help reduce the observation of this issue.

Workaround:
Attempt to identify the document in question and modify it as applicable or remove it from being routed.
