Default Wifi browsing

Please Login to Remove!

Hello, I have a blackberry curve 8520 with NO data plan on T-mobile. I want to use my home network to check my email on the phone instead of turning on the pc. How can I make sure that I am using my network to browse the web and not the T-Mobile network??? I do not want to get a huge bill for browsing. Also, when I take out the SIM card and browse the web is there anyway I can be charged for it or is it completely free?? Thank you.

Must have a BB data plan for BB email and in many cases, even to use WiFi.

For certain, you can't get push email and other RIM related services on the BB without a BB data plan.

I do not need Blackberry email, I just go to the browser and type in "hotmail" then I log in. Can I be charged for that when I am using wifi to go online??

Probably not on T-Mobile. They haven't caught up with the times yet. However, the newer OS' seem to require a BB data plan before allowing you to go on WiFi.

This is the case for me on Verizon--don't know about T-Mobile. If I don't have an active BIS plan, I cannot connect via WiFi. During one of the BIS outages a few months back, I could not conect to my home WiFi network until BIS was back up.

Some carriers require the BB data others probably will soon as it is another revenue stream.

The WiFi Service Book isn't available on Sprint unless a BIS plan, at minimum, is added.
