Default Why javascript is disabled ?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi everybody,

I didn't realy understand why javascript is disabled in BB browsors.
we are a company that develope web site optimised for smartphone.
We didn't understand why shoud we ask customers to activate javascript in theirs browsers ?Why did BB make this choice ?
Are BB planning to activate javascript by default in next versions ?

Thank you in advance.

Javascript is usually disabled in the browser by default, and enabled by default when using WiFi. The only reason I can think of for doing this is because of how slow the browser is, especially with Javascript running.

Thank you scottjb for your answer.
but have you ever seen a web site that doesn't use javascript ?
All web site can't run properly because of this choice of blabkBerry.
Normal users are not used to changer their browser configuration and as you can see in the internet every body that have BB are asking about how to enable javascript.
I realy didn't understand the reason and that's why i've written this post.
I hope that i will get the answer from the blackbery staff.

This site is not owned or operated by the blackberry staff.

perhaps you should direct your question to [email address] or check out the official Research In Motion web site at Smartphones, Cell Phones & Smart Phones at BlackBerry.com
