Has anyone experienced problems removing the battery from the 8900 or am the only one! The only way I was able to pop out the battery was to use a butter knife! I am returning it to T-Mobile as I do not want to have this kind of hassle every time I want to do a cold re-start.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Also, the method to remove the memory card is really difficult as well! You have to be a contortionist in order to hold down the little latch that holds the micro card AND push the card out of the holder!

dosen't seem too hard for me. There's a notch on the left and right hand side of the battery where the semi-circles are. Just grab there and pull.

the memory card is a little bit of a pain to get out...the battery not so much. grab from the sides

I haven't had a problem. The nice little indents on the side make it super easy to do a battery pull.

That is what I thought, but no matter what leverage I used, the battery would not budge. That's why I requested a new phone, since I wasn't going to run the chance of damaging either the battery or inside the case around the battery housing every time I wanted to do a cold reboot. I have fingernails of steel and chipped my nail trying to pry out the battery. As I mentioned, had to use a butter knife to get enough leverage to pop the battery out!

The battery pull is a piece of cake. Use the indents. The memory card is a pain the first time, but once you do it, it isn't too bad.

Yeah, Mem Card is really pain to get it out. Tried it today but gave up, will try it again when i receive my 16GB Card.

Yes I know, but the battery in my phone is so tight, that no matter what I did using my fingers and fingernails, the battery would not budge. That is why I has to resort to the butter knife approach. Otherwise, I would not have been able to get my sim card in my new phone after the battery was fully re-charged!

Hopefully the new phone T-Mobile is sending will have a "normal" battery!

If the battery is actually swelling then you could have a bigger problem then it just not fitting right, that means that battery is on a quick road to death and could even rupture.

Take a look when you get the new one and compare them side by side to see if the bad one is bulging at all, could have done it when you left it charging.

Can't you just press alt + right caps key + del at the same time for a restart? Does the battery pull provide a different restart.

I've found if you pull it from the upper right hand side, it comes out easier...
