My husband downloaded a program off the internet that works with the bluetooth technology and allows him to intercept all of my text messages, call logs, etc. Does anyone know how to get rid of or block the spyware?

Wow, that IS pretty creepy. I would say disable Bluetooth when you're not using it/you're around whatever device he has that has Bluetooth connectivity, enable password protection (don't give him the password obviously) and set it to a low time limit so it automatically locks the device after a few minutes of you not using it or just lock it manually before you set it down, and if you have his phone/PC/laptop saved as a paired device, delete that entry. If his device can't establish the BT connection to your phone, it shouldn't be able to retrieve anything.

I doubt that that's even possible. But you can wipe the phone with JL_Cmdr and reload the OS.

Yeah, it is totally creepy. Apparently the technology is fairly new. I tried disabling the bluetooth but that didn't seem to do the trick. I have it either with me or locked when I'm not using it.

I wish it was BS. Look it up on the internet. It's real and it's out there for anyone to get, just like keyloggers for computers.

If you post some links or provide a list of installed applications on your device. Menu>options>Advanced>Applications then we might be able to give you some advice on how to remove the application.....

Could it be a SIM card clone? That could give him access without installing any software on the phone.

All of the apps appear to be normal...blackberry 4.3 core application; russian characters and font; semtic characters and font; blackberry 4.3 system software; blackberry attachment service; blackberry maps; blackberry messenger; blackberry sample video; brickbreaker; browser; email setup application; facebook; help; memopad; password keeper; phone; and tasks. That's it for apps.

I'm not certain which one he used. There are a lot of them out there so it could be anyone of them. He wouldn't tell me.

Well, it's definitely BS, then.

But again, if you are really worried, wipe the phone and reinstall the OS, then only reinstall the applications that you want installed.

How do you know it's there? Did you see it? Do you have an icon with an application name?

Or did he just tell you he did it....in which case I have to agree it's probably BS.

Like a keylogger on a computer, there is no way to detect it on your phone, or at least that is what I've read about them. If there was an icon or an app name it would be easy to get rid of. I found out about it because he started questioning me about text messages that I was recieving. My phone is always either in my sight or locked. The first time he asked me about a text I'd received I had just walked in the door from work. He admitted that he downloaded an app to get the info and he's received and questioned me about every text I've received since. And he has not had access to my phone so there is no way he could be getting the information that way. I don't have anything to hide with respect to my texts and call logs but I do not like the idea of being spied on (who does?). I did take a look at his cell phone today and he has a nifty new icon that is not in his icon glossary that looks like a big lock....could be the app he installed. From what I've read, a couple of of the programs out there allow the info to be sent to the spiers phone and to a computer of their choosing. I disconnected my bluetooth when I found out about it a week or so ago and today I disconnected his. Maybe that will do the trick. I just want the stupid program off my phone.

Does he know what the message says or just who it's from?

I believe you can log into your account on Verizon's site and see what numbers that have been texting you or vice versa.

Just a thought, does your carrier allow you to view all incoming and outgoing calls and text msgs online when you log into your account. I know AT&T does. This would allow him to go online and look at your call history and text history. Of course all he would see would be the number that was called or calling and the number from the text msg.
This could explain how he questions you about the info and he does not have to have access to your berry, just access to the online account for the carrier. And he could have told you about the spy program just to throw you off.
