No problem. Seriously... you were a much bigger help than RIM was this afternoon.
Hopefully I'll be able to return the favor to you someday.

HUGE SUCCESS!
Looks like I had something misconfigured on the CWA side.
For some reason, Windows authentication was disabled, and it was defaulting to Form-based authentication.
Once I got Windows authentication enabled, the handheld was able to log in successfully.

Is anyone hosting the download that "was" up this morning?
Was hoping to try my luck with it.
Thanks

hmmm, so the link worked, but they currently only have it in versions for the handheld OS's 4.1, 4.2, and 4.6, not 4.5, which is what I'm running on my 8830. That's really too bad, I wanted to test it out.

If you read the documentation, it indicates somewhere that the 4.2 version will work on 4.5.
I've tried it, and it does work.

Nope, you need to have the collaboration service installed with the BES that is the only way this client will work.

I find it pretty bad that RIM level 2 support did not insist on you checking to see if forms based authentication was checked. It is right on their knowledgebase stating forms based is not supported with an http/https CWA/OCS implementation.
Glad to hear it is working for you though.

Authencation
I have figured out what my issue is just now how to fix it.
I was able to log in to the Blackberry OCS client but I had to enable anonymous Access within IIS.
This is the error I got before I enabled it
h**ps://servername.sub.domain.com:443/forms/logon.html version of CWA cannot be determined due to unexpected exception: Unexpected http result code during initial attempt to contact CWA server: 401>
This is what showed up in the IIS log
2008-07-29 16:18:47 W3SVC175074822 10.0.10.33 GET /forms/logon.html - 443 - 10.10.10.35 Jakarta+Commons-HttpClient/3.1 401 2 2148074254
I have two sites for CWA (one internal another external) the BES points to the internal one that has both basic and windows auth turned on.
I don't think Anonymous access should be turned on.
Any ideas??

Those that are getting the error "incorrect config in krb5.conf blah blah blah" and have no proxy configured for MDS. Try opening the file krb5.conf with notepad. Change what it tells you to change. I think it looked like this by default
[libdefaults]
default_tkt_enctypes = des-cbc-md5 ; or des-cbc-crc
default_tgs_enctypes = des-cbc-md5 ; or des-cbc-crc
[realms]
# change COMPANY.COM to your Kerberos realm
# change KDC:88 to the hostname:port of KDC
COMPANY.COM = {
kdc = HOSTNAME:88
}
We changed "company.com and hostname" to our relevant information. Restarted the service and voila. Now RIM needs to post some documents up so this doesn't have to be so hard.
Oh, and that file is located in c:\Program Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Enterprise Server\BBIM\Servers\BESSERVERNAME\config

Almost forgot, I'd love to be able to push this to our 100 blackberry users via the wireless push like I have in with the older client. Does someone have the correct version for this, or am I stuck with the one I downloaded from this thread for now?
