PLEASE HELLPPP !
My BB9000 is doing that sequence of 1 then 3 red lights flashing. I was advised to run the BB software but my Pc wont acknowledge my fone. What causes this problem and has anyone had it and fixed it.

Replace the battery and see if that fixes it.

Done it loads of times..even another battery. As soon a si connect my usb to my pc the lights flash.

A new OEM battery?

Try connecting to BBSAK and see if that will connect. If so wipe and restore the OS.

ok ive noticed something....on the little holder which keeps the track ball in place theres one of the 4 tabs missing that click into the fone around the trackball....are they contacts aswell as retainers ?
could this have messed up my fone ?

right ive got the device manager running now...its asking for a pin number ? ? it also says "none"..is there a default ? ?

I assumed that the "pin" would be the same you would use when pairing to a BT device. I now understand it is the PIN of the device.? ie eg:
127DE31J6

And since Desktop Manager can't connect to the device, it asks which PIN to connect to. But it doesn't let you enter it.

Well - with daughters phone, have not gotten to that point yet.! pc will not recognize it, seems that when I put in 3/4 charged batt, connect phone to pc, I get series of 15 sec long red led and audible connection to pc..then it disconnects also audibly and then in about 5 seconds re-connects again for another 15 seconds or so. It does this for maybe 5-6 times and then nadda. Seems to be draining battery power.

am now charging up a batt fully (in another phone), and see if i can get past this stage.
