Podcasts works and RSS feeds, too. RSS feeds are working with older devices, too.
Most of the radio streaming sites require either Windows Media Player or Real Player and the Bold doesn't support this.

I tested this with the Nokia BH-601 and it's working. Wasn't this working with older devices?

The ringer volume is loud, but not too loud.
Directly compared to a Curve, the vibration is less strong on the Bold.

Speaking of that, is there ring+vibrate versus vibrate and then ring?
Nope.

Does the browser honor the HTML hyperlink "accesskey" attribute?

For example, go to site http://mobi.traffic.com

Can you jump to the "Sign In" page by just pressing the "1" key on the keypad?

The BlackBerry 4.2 browser and earlier ignore this attribute, maybe it works now (but I doubt it)

After a few days of use, how does it fare on the scratcth front? I saw earlier that in #35 you reported no problems but wondered if it was still the case?

On the BlackBerry Bold, there is a setting labelled "GPS Extended Ephemeris" within the Options, and points to a configurable ephemeris server.

The word "Extended" suggests to me, that BlackBerry Bold is capable of both native GPS and assisted GPS. Basically faster accurate locks whenever there's 3G reception at the same time as GPS reception.

Can you turn off the radio before going outside, and then testing to see if you can get GPS co-ordinates? (refresh GPS to get co-ordinates). It will take about 1 minute to get a GPS lock in a clear wide-open area. This will prove that Bold is capable of both native GPS *and* assisted GPS -- best of both worlds.

GPS and aGPS are both the same thing with equal accuracy (just different speeds of accurate locking), while antenna triangulation is often inaccurate. (These are all 3 different things)

For other readers -- more information about what "ephemeris" is, I wrote a
GPS FAQ -- GPS versus aGPS versus AntennaTriangulate (all 3 very different things)

As the Bold uses a Sirf III chip, I am betting that it's capable of both native GPS and assisted GPS. I just want to confirm that my hunch is correct.

I have no idea.
Simple Record a video for say 1minute. Export it using Media Manager directly to PC no conversions and the file SHOULD either be in .MP4 or .MOV format. Play it back in VLC Media Player (FREE and very small install time and doesn't take over file extensions by default). In VLC Player, select the View Menu > Stream & Media Info WHILE the video is playing back on the PC.

This'll show you the frame rate and other nicety's.

Thanks for all the very helpful info.

Is it easy to download an email attachment onto the removable memory card (for the purpose of moving it to, for example, a laptop when you're away from the 'net)?

Unrelated question: Is there any other Blackberry other than the Bold that supports this process?

I do this on my 8800 now. All BB's that support a micosd/microsdhc card can perform this operation.... and yes th eprocess is as simple as one can expect.

It is displaying me 50 frames per second (latest VLC on Mac OS X), the resolution is 480x320.
