Default 7100t call volume

Please Login to Remove!

Can someone please help me? I recently convinced my father to get a blackberry (7100t) so that we could talk back and forth through email and the phone function while he is traveling on business. Anyway, there is one big problem. My father does not have the best hearing these days and he complains that the volume of the phone cannot go up loud enough. I sometimes find it hard to hear so I can't imagine the struggle he is having with it. Is there any possible way to make the phone go louder than just moving the volume up on the scroll wheel?

I don't know about the phone itself (are there seems like a regaular cell?), but what about a headset?

Default Known problem

I have the same volume problem. It really is a problem when using my Motorola HS810 bluetooth headset. The volume was fine when I was using Blackberry software version 3.8. It dropped when I upgraded to version 4.0. I finally got through to Blackberry support (3rd level support through T-Mobile) and was told that they 'knew about the problem, but no-one had ever complained before.' I was then told that there is no fix for the problem.

If they know this is an issue, they really should fix it!!!

Well I have had the same problem with both 3.8 and 4.0. Is there really no fix in sight? And no, I don't think my father would be willing to wear a headset. He would think its too goofly looking (I know him too well.)

Im having the same problem with the 7100g. Its not bad sitting in the home or office but when you get on the road it can be quiet hard to hear, pretty much impossible to hear with my bluetooth headset. I am very unhappy with it.

I have the same problem with my 7100t, but it's a lot better with my 7230.

One less-than-perfect, but somewhat effective, short-term solution is to turn on the speakerphone. That exacerbates the 7100t's problem of noisiness on the other end, but gives you a better chance at hearing a soft-spoken caller. On occasion, I've used the speakerphone while more or less holding the unit up to my ear. It's sort of like turning on the hearing-impaired volume boost on an airport pay phone when a plane is taking off or the guy on the intercom is announcing yet another delay.

I was wondering how everyone finds the 7100T from Venicom. Would you rather purchase the BB that way with the innumerable rules or buy it direct from T-mobile for $200.00. That is rather than free with the $100 rebate?
