Don't fret Kolev, it would appear english is not your first language which helps explain how some might have been put off by your comments. I just DL'd a trial of one of your dictionaries. If the superiority of this product over its cheaper competition is any indication of the relative quality and functionality one can expect from your keyboard locker, I'd say you have nothing to appologize for.

heya,

I just thought I'd chime in, as somebody who's just glancing over this thread.

I don't think Kolev was being particularly "arrogant", or "abrasive", as you described him/her. A little defensive, maybe, but you guys probably just got off on the wrong foot.

Look, they're a software developer ok, they write software, people pay for it. Nobody's forcing you to buy it, if you don't want to, just don't buy it, you don't need to advertise that you won't buy it or that you think it's too steep.

Myself, I think $5 is a bit much for something that should really be in the OS (stupid RIM...lol), but look, it's $5. What is that, half a subway? Or a couple apples *grins*. I mean, really. I can think of a hundred guys on my trading floor who would be like, $5, what the f? Just buy it. They'd consider the time wasted thinking about it worth more than the $5. Me *grins*. I'm still a cheapskate asian.

Still, I haven't tried any of the software, but from the page, assuming it's non-buggy, it does look useful. E.g. the Noah's bible study for $19.95 seems a bit steep, and I would have thought it'd be like $10 to $15, but meh, it's a once-off, and I guess they have to make a living.

Cheers,
Victor

Noah...maybe needs to be less than $20....but above everything it needs an update...it's the same price and almost the same functionality that was announced several years ago when Noah was literally the only game in town...and people loved it...but this is not our primary area of focus and we did not want to get into it for purpose...it's a whole another topic that you probably do not want me getting started on as I will likely get abusive and abrasive in addition to defensive and offensive

I hope we'll finally introduce an all-new Noah 5.0 sometime later this year.

One suggestion, can you make the notes and bookmarks backup? I hate loosing all my bookmarks and notes every time I upgrade my OS. Kind of takes away the point of using it to make notes...

It would also be nice to be able to highlight passages and to make verse list on topics where we can also type free form notes.

After years of using your Bible, those are my suggestions... Thanks.

so RIM know that the latest update messed up the keys (lock, standby) and are doing nothing??

because i updated my phone last friday and now the only way i get a password enabled lock is when i use the icon in the menu.. (press/hold A doesnt work, the and top left key works like the standby key, and the standby key doesnt do ANYTHING anymore)

The latest update didn't "mess up" the keys... this was done intentionally... and RIM is completely aware of the situation because it was done by their design...

What is the point of having a key lock button if it doesn't work ? Makes one wonder if the $5.00 lock utility is being sold by a RIM exec.

3: I checked your website today and the price was $5.99 not $4.99
...and the FREE edition of Addonis has the autolock feature.

Maybe as of today it does.

You see, back then Keyboard Locker was also free.

But then came BlackBerry OS 5.0 and broke compatibility with earlier OS versions rendering the application useless.

There was no simple fix to it, we had to re-write it from scratch and we did.

It's easy to believe someone else did it later on as well. If they have decided to give it away for free that is their choice.

I had to pay to developers to do what they did and hence I started asking money for it

Later OS revisions also required changes, by the way.

And whoever's offerring it for free won't keep it that way for long...we've been in the business long enough to know it.

They developer found a way to make a nice app that can be very useful and is charging money for it, so be it. He has every right to do so even if you think the price is unfair.

You can add a password for free and use a hot key to lock it.
Also a holster works well too and can be had for 20 or less online.

Now you have choices, make one that fits your needs that you can live with and afford.

I guess he didn't enable the password - which is why it won't lock on "alt-enter".
