Default Blackberry Bold 9700 Alarm Setting [Ringtone]

Please Login to Remove!

I'm able to create a new alarm but I'm unable to assign a ringtone to it.

Please advise.

Thanks,
Bone

Maybe they moved the alarm tone to profiles in 5.0?

No dice. I'm hoping that I don't have to create a new custom profile.

I found the alarm ringtone setup under "Options" for the clock. Is it not that obvious or am I missing something?

Back to BD, do you mean alarm? Or, reminder alert? There is a big difference. I have to ask because you can easily assume too much on the forum.

If alarm, the alrm tone _is_ in the alarm app settings and it _is_ obvious.

If you mean a reminder alert in profiles, and you can't set a tone, then I don't understand what the problem could be and you need to provide more detail.

I mean the alarm tone. Am I missing an Alarm icon? On my Pearl, I use to have an icon of a clock and I could set it from there. Now I have no icon, nothing under "settings", "options" except for Date/Time. I have the tones for alerts figured out. I just can't find any option or setting for clock or alarm.

From the home screen on the blackberry, bring up menu and select show all. See if you have it hidden.

I don't seem to have the option to select "show all". And I know how to do it on the Pearl. When I select menu, it brings up the icons. How do I select "show all". It can't be this difficult. I feel like a total n00b.

Ok.... I don't understand that. Probably something different I don't know about. Use the help app on the blackberry to figure out how to hide and show app icons.

In the meantime, have you checked inside all the folders to see if the alarm app is in one of them?

I'll give it a shot and also look inside the folders. I'll report back.

Found it! It was in my Applications folder - no idea why it is there. *grrrr* Now I have to move it outside of that folder. Thank you for the help.

for the 9700, there was no "show all" menu item like I had on the curve 8320. However, if you go into a folder like "Applications", you'll see that menu item for that folder only though.

I think the "clock" is the alarm/stopwatch/etc. on this phone. Not the most intuitive but it makes sense once you think about it.

Ahh! hahhhh! That's the "something different I don't know about."

I imagine the alarm icon varies with theme. I've stuck with the same native zen theme so long I have no idea what's out there.

Glad you figured it out BD!

On a completely unrelated topic, I am once again addicted to the crackberry... the novelty wore off a bit after I had my 8320 for a while but the 9700 has brought the passion back. muahahahahahaha.
