Jabra BT250v Static Problems?

I just picked up a Jabra bt250v for my bb8703. The headset was easy to set up and sounds nice and loud in my ear but unless I hold my phone up to my chest I hear static. I have tried wearing it in different ways. I always wear it on the same side as my phone but no matter what I do there is static on MY end. I was wondering if it was the headset of the phone that was causing problems? Maybe it is something that I am doing wrong? Any help would be great. Thanks.
