new to smartphones of any kind so please bear with me if my questions are stupid.Sorted out the bluetooth connections to ear piece and laptop but it's e mail set up that's causing me a problem. I have followed the "Setup"--"Setup wizard"--"E mail stup" but there is only 1 selection for Blackberry Enterprise the "I want to add or create an email address" is missing. At the moment the unit is without a sim card will that affect e mail?

Yes it will. You must have a BlackBerry Data Plan on your account (and SIM card) in order to use the BlackBerry e-mail.

No SIM card = no e-mail

Thank you NJBlackberry. So even if I'm using WiFi through my home router I can't set up an e mail account? What is the Blackberry Data Plan? Is the reason that I haven't the choice to set up an email through the setup wizards simply down to no sim? The little booklets provided with the Blackberry are a little short on detailed information.

You won't be able to connect to your home WiFi.
BlackBerrys are different. You need a special data plan to get the option to add e-mail or use WiFi, and you must have a SIM card with the data plan on it.

Now I'm confused .I'm sure I've connected to my home network ,the Blackberry requested a password to connect and I'm able to browse the Web with no problems but If I try to sign on to Gmail on the browser I get an error message something like Http 500.
