Default Host Routing Table

Please Login to Remove!

I have an Unlocked T-Mobile Blackberry 8320 handset. It is working fine. I can make and receive calls/SMS. I can browse internet through Wi-Fi and GPRS browser. However Blackberry services are not working on the handset. I got Blackberry plan already activated. When I call my service provider for the handset settings, they ask me to go to the host routing table, and register the handset. I have tried it in manual selection mode, and taken out the battery and SIM card also after the registration message sent option. Still the gprs is coming in small letters, and my handset is not registering. Now the service providers are saying that my handset is faulty. I cant believe it. Please let me know the solution.

Where did you buy your handset?

May want to wipe the device with JL_CMDer and reload the OS. (Instructions found in BBFAQ Section of the site)

I bought the handset from Singapore. It has T-Mobile written on it. I have already wiped the handheld, and re-installed the OS version 4.5.0.81

Further I also want to know whether it possible that in the unlock process, the Blackberry services still remain locked, while other services remain unlocked. Is there any provision of selective unlocking? In my mind, if a mobile is unlocked its all the services should be unlocked.

By Wipe did you use JL_CMDer or just the Wipe Handheld feature?

Try loading a difference OS, if it still don't work it must be a hardware issue as using JL_CMDer would resolve any software issue.

Dear Steve
I first wiped the handheld through the 'Wipe Handheld' feature. Then, after your recommendation, I have wiped it with the JL_CMDer also. I was not able to wipe it normally, and had to use the advanced option for wiping, as mentioned in the FAQ. Still the problem persists. I am unable to get GPRS or EDGE in capital letters.

I am currently using Handheld software version 4.5.0.81 and Desktop Manager version 4.6. What OS version you want me to try out?

Thanks a lot for your concern.

Above is another OS for the 8320, I would give that one a shot... If it doesn't after that then it could be a hardware issue.

Nope. Subsidy lock prevents you from using another carrier's SIM. That's it. It doesn't discriminate data packets.

You might try logging into the Airtel BIS page on a computer and re-entering your PIN and IMEI to ensure your BlackBerry data plan is indeed associated with your particular device.

Then, on your BlackBerry, go to Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table and use the menu key to re-register.

Finally, once you get the confirm email on your BB that it is registered with the network, go back to the BIS page from a pc and resend your service books.

Follow that up with a battery pull for good measure. If that doesn't get it done, a call to Airtel to confirm they have your data plan properly provisioned would be a good idea.

If you do all this and get no joy, it may well be a hardware problem.
