Default Video Attachments on 4.5

Please Login to Remove!

Hello All,

I downloaded and successfully installed the latest 4.5 OS for my 8310. Everything is rocking... Except I can't believe that we still don't have the option to watch video attachments on the curve with the new OS.

I can record and email video but I can't send it to another BB user because they can't open it. Am I missing something here, this has to be wrong...

Why can't I simply save the attachment and open it?

If this is indeed the case, does anyone know of a third party software than gives the capability to open different video formats from an email attachments?

Thanks in advanced.

Wirelessly posted (TMO 8120 4.5.0.52)

Both BlackBerrys must be running 4.5 and the limit is 3MB. It has been working great for me.

Troy - So you simply click on the video attachment and it opens? Or do you save it to the media card and then open?

Is there a setting adjustment that could maybe resolve this?

Okay, is it only me who can't open video attachments?

Is there anyone else having issues opening video attachments?

Can someone please shed some light on this for me. I take the video with my phone, email it to myself as an attachment and I can't open it on my BB. Even though the video originated on my BB. This drives me crazy, is this a settings issue?

I am wondering the same thing. I can't open video email attachments either. There isn't a choice in the drop-down menu. Snapshots are ok, video is not?Why is this? The file isn't any bigger than the picture file, yet you can't save them to watch. You can MMS the video, but if you want to receive a video file from an international address, you can't receive it. Makes no sense. I wish RIMM would address this quirk. I had a Verizon PocketPC phone prior to the Curve, and no problem doing that. Although.. I couldn't MMS video with it! LOL

I sent my buddy a video via email and he could not see it (He is on VZW World Phone) and neither could i (T-Mobile), so we tried it using GTalk and he was able to view the video. I guess the email platform on the blackberry detects the video as a file it cant open so it does not bother to give you the option to save the attachment. Try sending the video via instant messaging and not email attachments.
